“Enigma” is a downtempo breakbeat type track that merges industrial type rhythms with organic sounds in order to create an imagined rhythmic soundscape composed from a combination of field recordings, recorded resonances and synthesized elements working symbiotically with one another. It is part of a three track EP I submitted for my Advanced Project as part of my undergraduate degree in Sound Design. It serves as an exploration of timbre, texture, spacialisation and rhythm.

Ashley Maclaughlin:
I am a musician, sound designer and visual artist primarily interested in creating modern psychedelic artworks. I create a variety of sonic art - primarily music, in addition to fractal and mandala based visual art. I am especially interested in depth, timbre and texture within sound, and colour and geometry within the visual art that I create. I will be continuing to study at postgraduate level in the University of Greenwich's Digital Arts program where my ambition is to create audio visual works involving projection mapping. I am excited by the possibility of this in addition to gaining further knowledge and insight into methods used in the creation of digital art.
