An Interpretive Landscape was originally inspired by Claude Lorrain's 17th century painting A Pastoral Landscape.

The painting features a pastoral foreground scene complemented by distant hills with a warmly coloured sky above, however this stunning landscape is juxtaposed by a castle and cliff on the right-hand side of the canvas which casts an ominous presence over the rest of the work. My piece aims to sonically represent these contrasting interpretations, conflicting the sinister castle with Lorrain's utopian vision.
